It might seem as if we’re always napping, or waking up from a nap, or just about to nap. But we’re really a family of action.

9 miles of bike riding (Chariot at less than 4 bucks a mile now…), with a few more hills today, worked up Catherine’s appetite.  Stop by PW Market on the way home…8 Nathan’s hotdogs.  They were smaller than I expected.  I ate my 3 in like a minute or so.

Too bad Shawn and Kari can’t watch soccer on anything less than a 100 inch TV screen – they flaked on the bike ride because of the game. If they came on the bike ride, I’m sure they would have stuck around (joined in on?) the hot dog eating contest qualifications…There’s a vegetarian in the Nathan’s contest – he only eats meat during contests. I like his dedictation. Dedication to being a vegetarian. But his dedication to competitive eating trumps that. That’s the part of the dedication that I like. I think that story could have helped Shawn put aside his hot dog phobias and qualify.

Yeah – some want to make a challenge out of it – so to qualify for the challenge, one must eat 5 in 12 minutes to qualify. Then we’ll have all the entrants together for the contest…IFOCE rules apply…I’m getting a better understanding of them as Catherine points out the finer points to me.

This video camera either needs to be taken away from me – or will be my stepping stone towards an Oscar for Best Documentary…

Starting the dogs…

Good progress…what a pace!

It looks like a lock!

Making adjustments…

The fans get into it!

Time runs out.

But did she feed any to Chapo? I can’t be sure. The soccer game. Sal bouncing around (he didn’t fall at the end of that video…just in case you’re wondering…came close though) and just the general excitement of the event was distracting. Though it was a great effort and my attempts of making the rules Survivor style didn’t take. IFOCE rules hold. I gotta goto IKEA now.
