Sal had his 6 month checkup last week.
Everything’s going good. He can eat everything now. Except like nuts and cheeses and maybe something else. I’d be worried that I don’t remember what the something else was, except that at the time, I remember thinking, well, we wouldn’t be eating that anyway. Maybe it’s important though. I’ll double check with Catherine.
He’s 75th-90th percentile for headsize. And 75th percentile for weight. And 25th percentile for height. He only grew an inch over the last 3 months. Those first 6 months are supposed to be his growing months too – as generally, kids slow down from 6 months on…
At 2 years, the rule of thumb is that you’re half your final height. Say he maintains his rate of an inch every 3 months for the next 18 months. Which would be unusual, as they’re supposed to slow down after 6 months. But let’s just say he keeps up an inch per 3 months. That’ll put him at 31 inches at 2 years.? For a projected total of 62: for a 5 foot 2 inch final height.
All this is rule of thumb, nothing in cement, blah blah blah. Maybe if I apologize to Walter for all the comments I’ve made about his height, karma will give Sal a growth spurt? I dunno.
What I do know is that Sal will be drinking lots of milk over the next few years. So if you got milk, I might commandeer it from you for Sal. He’s gonna be drinking it. And when he’s old enough to choose what he wants to drink, I’ll be drinking milk, to try and bias his decision towards having a milk with me.? “Another round of milk for the boys!”
Anything over 5-2, will be gravy…
