Checking for tickets for the Monster Jam yesterday.
The commercial said tickets were $5.

The fine print says kids tickets are $5.
Adults are $20 or $25.
Day of, they raise prices $2.
Ticketmaster wants $15 in fees for $29 in tickets. Not the worst I’ve paid (I’ve paid $21 in fees for $15 in tickets…go Sabercats!).
So having learned my lesson from that experience, I figured I’d buy the tickets in line @ the venue. I mean, how popular can Monster Jam be?
It was only a 1 hour line to buy tickets. Constantly wondering if the scalpers who said that tickets were sold out would be right by the time I got up to the front of the line. But the scalpers weren’t giving a discount for kids. And I only had a hundred dollar bill and twenty. Not sure how good scalpers are with change.
So we missed all the qualifying for the races. Which was okay. We saw the Batman truck win in the championship race.
Then we waited 15 minutes in line for some popcorn, cause he ate his whole italian sausage, only to get near the front of the line and hear that they’re out of all their food. Get in another line and risk repeating that same fate or get back to our seats? A promise of post show ice cream got us back to our seats.
Then we saw the freestyle Monster Jam. Monster Mutt Dalmatian rolled over (and back up onto his wheels…but was broken quickly after that). Lots of trucks broke actually. Pretty severe stresses on those axels I suppose.
But I think we’re ready for remote controlled monster trucks now…
