so i realize how abstract/loose my knowledge of pregnancy was now that i learn more about it. and lots of questions come to mind. but one that’s really got me is –
do dogs have belly buttons?
and the followup questions all revolve around the line of – where’s the line drawn for belly buttons? who’s got them and who doesn’t? chimps? monkeys? apes?
please – learn me.
here’s an
oops…let’s try that again…

hmm…so – they do which is what i would have guessed – except that seeing a litter come out – with all these cords – seems like a mess. dangerous mess. now i wanna watch puppies get born. figure it’s good preparation. i mean, we got chapo has preparation – after our sticks and frogs and fish died – we figured we’d take mammals more seriously.
so – all mammals have them except for duckbills and marsupials? dolphins?
at least for pups unlike humans – pups usually born still in the amniotic sack – see picts below http://www.tdl-enterprises.com/Puppies/Puppies.htm so that should help w/ the cord control…
hmm – i guess cord control is an issue when sharing sacks in identical twins for humans… http://www.gynob.com/fratidentwins.htm
i see all of these urls listed and i don’t think i want to look at any of them. “amniotic sack”, “sharing sacks”, “cord control”… not for me.
the identical twin page wasn’t anything icky. i don’t understand the illustration of the woman with the swan (?), but it’s not off-putting. the dog giving birth though….i’ve never seen that before. and i don’t think i need to see it again, actually. kelly, stop being a scaredy cat and just look 😉
ha ha – this is why i don’t understand why people would want picts or videos of them giving birth… kelly – just wait till you have to attend birthing classes someday…
