Turducken. I first heard that one Thanksgiving from John Madden during a Cowboys game. He used to have a turkey with 6 legs. And he’d give out game legs to players. Then, somewhere along the line, he started talking about turducken’s. I’d never have the gumption to make one myself, but they do serve them at some restaurant in the Disneyland mall. Across the street from the ESPN Zone. I had it one holiday season with Catherine’s family.
Anyway – today, in prep for the fasting, Marco suggested I go with a creation he’s been dreaming up for a while. The filet-o-fish, with a chicken sandwich, combined with a quarter pounder. All my food groups right there.
It was smaller than everyone thought it would be I think. But a pretty good meal. Lots of texture. Definitely better than those strange chalupa/taco combos from Taco Bell that are touted as being a textural wonder…
Next time I’ll try it at Carls or Burger King – they have bigger sandwiches…
i’m not sure if i’m understanding your version of fasting… it sounds a lot more like you’re trying to become a binge eater.
turducken. i’ve been wanting to try it since kari first brought it to my attention. even more so now that scott has a turkey fryer. gonna have to give that a try in the old frydaddy.
we had turducken for thanksgiving once, flown in from somewhere in louisiana. the stuffing had a lot of sausage in it, so the whole thing kind of tasted like sausage. my dad, who likes just turkey, was disappointed. but if you were to deep fry it…that might change his mind 😉
good luck on the fasting today, cris! maybe when you’re done you can replenish yourself with marco’s creation at burger king.
yeah – i mean – i think the binge eater only applies cause i’m fasting. it’s not like that sandwich was out of the ordinary. i’d have another today if i wasn’t fasting. then instead of getting the binge eater label, i’d just be a big eater.
i’m not denying any eating disorders. i just don’t know how many.
wow. i underestimated you & your supernatural eating powers. makes me feel kinda queasy.
yeah – i did kind of sneak in 5 pieces of pizza during the football game last night too. but they were real thin crusted.
there was little shame in me picking my plate out of the trash and going back to get another slice. very little. possibly none.
and there was a little confusion at lunch. but if kari and shawn aren’t gonna mention it, i’ll be quiet too.
