Fasting going okay. Lost 3 pounds on the first day. Didn’t cheat and drink any booze even. Next day flew down to Santa Monica and kind of forgot to stop eating at dusk, so one of the heaviest, messiest burritos was eating while I should have been “fasting”. I’ll make it up by not eating at the crack of dawn in the morning.

Did drink only water during a poker tourney we had. Ended up winning the silly thing.

No Jain, No Gain! That karma stuff kicks in nicely.

Even won a side bet with Nako about who would get kicked out first. So 15 minutes into the tourney, I had already made back all my buy-in for the tourney and lots of pressure was removed.

We had a guy that has won a world series of poker bracelet at the table. He might have been a punk. He was staring people down, or should I say, trying to stare people down. Sometimes it would work and sometimes we would be oblivious. I mean, friendly little home tourney, why try and be like that? But, I guess maybe being like that all the time is how you get to wear a bracelet.

Except we know that’s not what I think. Getting the right seat is the way to get a bracelet.

I didn’t think I’d win, so I was kind of just trying to figure out who to donate my money to, and would have the bet chance of not letting bracelet win. I realized that should be my plan after folding down to Luke on a hand.

Next time Luke and I ran into each other, I called his All-In and figured he could take the money the rest of the way. Though I didn’t have junk: KQ of diamonds. He flips his cards over – KQ of spades. Oh well, we’ll just split the pot.

Flop comes with 2 diamonds. Something on the turn. Luke agonizing about the river…for good reason. There was a bit of grumbling about the way the hand played out, since I was dealing, but we moved on.

Almost had a Nestle Crunch while in the Santa Monica offices today – but my boss pointed out, as I was picking it up, that I was fasting. Made sense – I don’t remember really being that interested in the Crunch before.

Oh – and later I found some Flex documents that pointed me into the right direction for utilizing some of their backwards compatible security policies…I know, I know – how lucky can one be in 1 day?
